Case Study - Brecon Apartment, Powys
We were approached by our client who had previous knowledge of the Control4 system and wanted to integrate this into an apartment that he was renovating to allow distribution of audio and video, control of lighting, heating and blinds and also control of a home cinema.
The audio distribution was handled by a Control4 amplifier and ceiling speakers to three rooms and we also utilised the home cinema speakers for audio within the open plan kitchen/lounge area.
The home cinema consisted of five in wall speakers and a free standing subwoofer with an Optoma HD projector a 50” Samsung LED TV was also situated behind the electric screen of the cinema. The clients options of what to view on the cinema ranged from his Sky HD receiver to movies and programmes on his AppleTV. The AppleTV was also used as an audio source that could be heard all around the apartment. Home cinema seating was also installed within the lounge area.
The lighting control consisted of twelve lighting circuits within the apartment which 
consisted of both low voltage LED lighting and normal mains lighting which allowed for scene setting especially within the lounge where the home cinema was situated. Lighting control was done via Control4’s lighting modules. The blind control was also integrated within the lighting scenes which when selected would dim the lights, close the blinds and start showing the clients favourite movie.
The heating was controlled via a Control4 thermostat which allowed the client to monitor and change the apartments temperature either via the on wall touchscreen, clients iPad, on screen navigator or via the Control4 remote control.
The overall project posed some challenges but we were extremely pleased with the final result and more importantly so was the client.
